Comparative Ink and Nib Sample

From Evernote:

Comparative Ink and Nib Sample

Now that the bar exam is over -- and more importantly, now that I have taken the bar exam without bursting into flame or otherwise coming to a swift and possibly messy end -- I figured it was time to post another handwriting sample.  I wanted to do one that would compare some different ink colors, but more importantly, different nib sizes.  As I've mentioned before, Japanese nibs tend to run about one size smaller on average than their European counterparts (so a Japanese Fine is a European Extra-Fine).  If you're like me and don't have a lot of experience with fountain pens and or have trouble picturing the relative size of tiny things in your mind, this should help.  The Pilot Yama-Budo is in a Japanese fine-nib Pilot Custom 823, and the Diamine Sherwood Green is in a Japanese fine-nib Pilot Capless Fermo.

The J. Herbin Perle Noire sample was written using a Paradise Pen Company 5280, with a European fine-nib.

More samples and haiku to come ...
